– Ascentria Care Alliance, one of the largest human service nonprofits in New England, announces the addition of Karen-Louise Walker as Vice President of Development. Karen joined Ascentria in February and is responsible for leading, planning, and implementing all external fundraising activities.
Walker brings extensive administrative, executive leadership and oversight experience working in the nonprofit and public sectors, including over 14 years in advancement and fund development. Of her new role at the company Walker says, “I am excited to join the Ascentria team and make immediate contributions to address the critical need for funding to provide the invaluable services some individuals and families need to achieve self-sufficiency and move towards independence. This position presents an opportunity that is an ideal match relative to my personal interests and professional path.”
Jeffrey Kinney, Chief of Staff and External Relations, said of Walker’s addition to the development team, “We are very pleased to welcome someone of Karen’s caliber to Ascentria. In addition to her impressive professional experience and education, she has extensive relationships in the greater Worcester community, which is an important growth area for us in the coming years.”
Walker has two Masters degrees and a Doctor of Theology degree from Boston University, and is an ordained minister in the Baptist tradition.
