David Forsberg, Ascentria Giving Society Founding Chair

David ForsbergDavid Forsberg’s name is synonymous with “giving back.” Over the years, he has served the City of Worcester and the Commonwealth in a variety of capacities and has been a part of the Ascentria family, both as a long-time board member, a vice president, and as interim agency president.

During his tenure at Ascentria (then known as Lutheran Social Services of New England), he was instrumental in developing the Florence House, a teen parenting program for young mothers and their children. Ascentria’s Forsberg Independent Living Program, which serves adults with developmental disabilities, even bears his name. It should come as no surprise, then, that Ascentria would look to David P. Forsberg to be the founding chair of its new Ascentria Giving Society.

“His kind and generous reputation precedes him,” notes Candace Cramer, Ascentria’s chief development officer. “When we decided to introduce the Ascentria Giving Society earlier this year, his name was top-of-mind. David is a driving force for good. We are honored that he has accepted the role of founding chair.”

“Over the years, I’ve been blessed with a number of opportunities to serve,” says David. “None has been more rewarding than my time with Ascentria. It is not an exaggeration to say that we give ‘new life’ to the people we serve. I am honored to chair the Ascentria Giving Society and to ask for broad and generous support for our important work.”
