Celebrating the Grand Opening of “The Lighthouse”

November 11, 2025

Ascentria Care Alliance, one of New England’s largest human service organizations, celebrated the grand opening of its new headquarters, The Lighthouse at Ascentria, at 18 Chestnut Street in Worcester. Civic leaders including Senator Robyn Kennedy, Senator Mike Moore, Representative Mary S. Keefe, Mayor Joseph Petty, and City Manager Eric Batista joined partners, donors, and community members to mark this transformative milestone.

Officially opened on October 1, The Lighthouse symbolizes hope, belonging, and the light that guides Ascentria’s mission forward. The 24,615-square-foot facility was designed to foster collaboration and create a welcoming, inclusive environment where individuals and families can access Ascentria programs and partner services under one roof.

“The Lighthouse is more than a new building—it’s a symbol of who we are and how we show up for our communities,” said Angela Bovill, President and CEO, Ascentria Care Alliance. “For more than 150 years, Ascentria has stood beside people in times of need, and this space allows us to do that together in new and transformative ways.”

The new headquarters brings together critical services including workforce development, ESOL and adult education, immigration legal assistance, foster care, mental health services, and programs for older adults and individuals with disabilities.

“The Lighthouse stands as a beacon of belonging for every person who walks through its doors,” said Senator Robyn Kennedy. “It reminds us what true courage looks like: choosing compassion, standing together, and doing what’s right for our community.”

That same spirit of compassion shines in Ascentria’s work with older adults across its senior care and living communities. Ascentria is committed to providing holistic care that helps older adults live fully, with dignity and joy.

“Ascentria has been a steadfast partner in caring for Worcester’s seniors—providing care and connection for decades at Lutheran Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center, and more recently at Goddard House and Homestead Hall, new members of Ascentria Care Alliance,” said Mayor Joseph Petty. “The Lighthouse builds on that legacy by bringing people and services together to strengthen our city.”
