Ascentria Care Alliance, one of the largest human service nonprofits in New England, announces the addition of Christine Tappan as Chief of Strategy and External Relations.

In her role, Tappan will be a key member of the executive team and will play a large role in strategic planning and development. She will advance the strategic priorities for fundraising, communications, advocacy and marketing and is responsible for representing Ascentria to the media, stakeholders, funders, and government officials.

Tappan comes to Ascentria as a proven leader who creates meaningful change and impact across the health and human services spectrum. Most recently, Tappan held the position of Principle Associate at Abt Associates where she led domestic U.S. strategy for technical assistance and capacity building across health, social, and economic policy. Prior to Abt, as Associate Commissioner of New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, she was responsible for overseeing all Human Services and Behavioral Health programs, policymaking, operations, staffing, and budgets.

Says Angela Bovill, President and CEO, “As a visionary leader, Christine is a valuable addition to the executive team. The timing of her joining the organization could not be better as Ascentria embarks on a new strategic vision to transform how services are delivered by the human services sector. Christine will be an integral contributor and we are so fortunate she decided to bring her skills, experience and dedication to excellence to our organization.”
